R. Brent Capshaw 

Brent Capshaw—known to most as "Cap"—brings over 30 years of legal experience to the firm. He spent 10 years in private practice in Oklahoma handling criminal defense and personal injury cases before joining the New Mexico District Attorney's Office, where he served for 20 years. As Chief Deputy District Attorney, he prosecuted many of San Juan County's most high-profile cases and managed an office of approximately 65 staff members and 18 attorneys. 

Before law school, Cap earned a Construction Science degree from the University of Oklahoma and managed high-rise construction in Dallas. He graduated from OU Law in 1991. A lifelong outdoorsman who enjoys golf, fly fishing, and backpacking, Cap came out of retirement to return to the courtroom part-time.
